Getting with the times.

August 31st, 2010

Gotta new T with DVR and I love it. It has changed my life. Yeah some of you may have it while others don’t even watch TV. But man has HD and DVD made watching TV so much better. It really does matter and I am glad that I am living in a time like this. I cant imagine what life will be like 50 years from now. Flying cars?? Dexter is a coming and that is hands down the best show on TV.  Fantasy football is the way to go if you are truly into football. You appreciate the game so much more and it gives you a reason to watch. My Yankees are in a pennant race with Tampa Bay but what is sad is that Tampa cant even fill up their stadium. Let people in for free. Started working out again and doing a cleansing thing for 5 weeks. First week is always tough, but in week two you start to see results and that is what keeps you going. You gotta know why you are cleansing. Finally I saw John Mayer at the Hollywood Bowl and man does that guy put on a show.  He did edge of Desire as an encore and he never does that song.

Game Show Mania

August 30th, 2010

Folks now is the time to audition for game shows if you wanna be on. Currently they are casting 1 vs. 100 which I may actually be a member of the mob on that show. Best thing about being a mob member is I would be one of the 100 mob members they would cast for 40 episodes. Considering this game will be in syndication and have a new host with a small budget. But  with a chance to win 50 grand an episode for 40 eps that wouldn’t be a bad gig. Also they are casting for a show called Money Drop and Wipe out. Money drop involves two people per episode and wipeout just looks like fun.

Baggage and finding Miss Right.

August 16th, 2010

I recently did an episode of Baggage hosted by Jerry Springer on the game show network. Now I have done 10 different dating shows and I say that on the show, but this was special. This time I was the dater and I had thee hot mamas that wanted me. Meeting Jerry Springer was awesome he is a very funny guy. Anytime I said something he had a funny joke to throw in. The women were fucking beautiful and the show is just funny. I mean you find out things about the women before you get to know them. i was once a man, I have a snoring disorder, I am an alcoholic… stuff like that. It is scary what people have as baggage.  But Benza was in his rare form making his return to Game show Network and doing what he does best reality TV. I love being on TV and getting to be this guy. later this week I’m going out with one of the three ladies and well see how that goes.  Later this week John Mayer at the Hollywood Bowl.

Forget the Lyrics

August 3rd, 2010

Folks I have done over 40 game reality shows in my life, but the biggest cock tease I got this year was when I got involved in Don’t Forget the Lyrics this year. First off they call me and I audition for them and I kill it.  It is now the month of May and they call me to tell me that I would be on their show in June.  They tell me what songs to learn so I would be ready. So now I’m thinking is this legal?,  or maybe they want me to win. Anyway I study up on “these songs” for the two months. In this time I have two different producers calling me up working on my character for the show, what would I do with the money. I said I would buy a house, but they didn’t like it so they made me create a bullshit story they thought would be more interesting. Shit I didn’t even believe it. The night before the show they call me and tell me yeah we have to move my show. This is after I took the following day off from work. So they move me to July and I am out that money fine. I will study more. Come July they move my date a second time to a third date. I’m getting pissed off by now. Finally I get a day. Show up and they have me do the whole nine. Makeup filling out the contracts, listening to the legal jargon. Then they had me play the game numerous times, practice games. They keep me there 10 hours and then release me saying we overbooked again. But the 1000 dollars they promised me for appearing is not paid to me. With no excuse they release, they said they liked me, but obviously not that much. They said they will have me back so I call the next couple of weeks and get the runaround until after enough calls they tell me maybe next year keep my fingers crossed. The only fingers I have for them is two. Oh and they are currently still casting for this show as i write this. So they are full of shit. So I say Forget the Lyrics. I found out I am not the only person they have done this to. There are others. So Standards and Practices if you are listening  Don’t Forget the Lyrics cheats. They tell you what songs you”should” know. Then they jerk your chain for four months and don’t use you. Maybe I wasn’t the best singer at that time. Only they know. But you don’t treat people like that and expect to get away with it.  I will call Don’t forget the Lyrics out anytime, because I have nothing to lose at all. Anything I signed they should check. It wasn’t my legal name.  Folks do another game show where you can make more money. This year it is not the same. It is less money, a crappy metrosexual host and there is a casting person there with a chicken neck who thinks she knows what she is talking about, but she wouldn’t know talent if it crept up her ass and set up residency. So Folks Forget the Lyrics.

July as it goes by.

July 20th, 2010

It;s been a while folks but I’m back. Did a couple of shows this past year. One was the Price is Right and I got called down there is nothing more exciting in game shows once your name is called and they tell you to come on down. I was called right away so i had six chances to go up there and meet Drew. Well six chances went by and I never made it out of contestants row. Let me tell you it is the loneliest place in game show history. I had a bitch keep betting a dollar over me. She endede up winning a car. I got a capresso machine and a lava heat lamp as a partying gift. But how do you get on Price is right. Read chapter one of my book and then you’ll know. The next day I got on a show called Trust me I’m a game show Host. Its a show that starts out with 100 hundred people and if they guess facts right they keep going until it gets down to one person. If you guess wrong then your out but the way you are eliminated is brutal. This is a pilot for abc Moe Roca and Bill evengall are the hosts and at times these hots lie to you. I’m also heavily involved in another show but I’m gonna keep that quiet for now.  Went to Chicago this past year as well and it is an awesome place the bars around wrigley field are a blast. The night life the people a blast. Deep dish pizza is awesome. Wrigley field itself i saw the first game ever there between Angels and the Cubs. Turned into a ninth inning rain fest. Went to Vegas to see the UFC fight between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin. It was awesome. Lost a shit load of money at the tables though. But Vegas is Vegas and what happens there stays there.  Inception hands down will be the best movie of the summer and maybe year. It is so deep and it was great considering this is a shitty movie  year.  I’m updating the website soon. You can check out some of my latest videos on youtube just click under JakeTicon and you will see everything. Love entourage Hung and true Blood. Just the best way to spend two great hours of TV. Trying desparately to get on Dexter this season and I will make it a promise that I will. This Summertime I am doing what I want cutting down exercising when I can and being on TV. Im just not the lucky guy I used to be on game shows but i am right there. What can I say i love doing these shows.

The Literary Agent/Lawyer/Manager and the 45 day diet.

May 7th, 2010

I’m back. As you know I have a 97 page animated script ready to go called Living the Dream. Currently I have an audio book in the works as well as an animated short that is going to hit the internet by June. Recently I have sent out hundreds of query letters to Managers, Lawyers and Literary Agents in regards to this script and the feedback is overwhelming. I am setting up meetings as I write this so I can build a great team and shop this script right. I will give a certain amount of time to Literary agents to get back to me. Of course I’m going to go with the representation who shows the most interest. I don’t care if it’s the biggest agency in Hollywood or New York. I want to do this thing right. Lastly I am on day 20 of a 45 day diet that includes no booze, strictly veg grilled chix, working out as much as possible and a small appearance from the master cleanse diet. I’m proud to say I have lost 8 pounds and I am starting to get my figure back. Also I’m getting nice arm size. After the 45 days I have a strict lifestyle change where I will stick to it. I’m doing well things are happening and I’m in a great mood. Oh and of course Lost is still the best show on TV currently. Also My Yanks rule.

Living the Dream

April 26th, 2010

Hey my fellow Iconions. Benza here. I’ve ben busy doing things outside of Reality and acting but now I’m back. I’m up for a show. Don’t wanna Jinx it but I think I got a shot. Its been a while so now I can do these shows again.  I’ve been busy as you know writing an animated movie script and its about to be shopped around Hollywood, still looking for Literary agent though to help speed the process along. Writing is fun and I want to do it for a living. I’m damn close to fulfilling a few a of my goals and I am glad I made the time to do it. Got my summer planned. Doing three trips. Chitown Vegas and New York. Also a couple of concerts planned as well. I figure now is the time April and may to do whatever it is you have to do so you can enjoy summer. April and may were always who cares months for me.

Cant wait to see how it all turns out on Lost. I hope we are not disappointed. And Yes it is getting a bit tiresome I guess that happens with most shows.

John Mayer

March 26th, 2010

I saw John Mayer in concert last night and this guy was the bomb. man did he rock the guitar. I call him The Mayer. This guy opened up with Heart Break Warfare like I called. He closed with Gravity and man did this guy at one point get on the floor in a praying position and bust out on his guitar. almost like he was sanding door the floor. Then he played behind his back. The guy puts on a great show every time. And yeah it’s hard to watch the guy when he plays cause of the faces he makes, but he is money well spent.  Hands down my favorite performer.

Lucky to be living in LA

March 15th, 2010

Folks I have a had a crazy two weeks. Both great and bad stuff happened. First the bad ..my best friend past away like I wrote last blog. I was sad and I am still hurt by the situation. It effected me at work and in my friendly relations I have with people. They saw a change in my behavior. It happens life. Things happen. I don’t care what you plan for shit happens and you really have to deal with it. Now the good stuff. I am better now. I have reconnected with a lot of people I haven’t seen in a long time. I met them at my buds funeral. Wow that was tough to write.  I’ll be back on TV folks filming something this month for game show network.. so Jack Benza returns to game show network. Last time I was on that network I was the Whammy Weight Champion on Press your Luck. Won a car and 50 grand. so i bet they can’t wait to have me back. The biggest news is Dreams Come True my animated script. As some of you know I am a writer and some of my stuff got stolen a few years ago i was devastated and couldn’t write. In 1996 i wrote a script called To Bee or Not To Bee and it became Antz and Bugs Life when I sent my shit out there. Not this time. I got something no one has ever done or can ever think of doing. And being a published author with two books out I got some credits to back me this time.  I have a table read in two weeks and I am surrounding myself with a team that is gonna make this happen. People are doing me a favor. I am so fucking gung ho about this that I am lucky to be living in LA where one phone call can change everything.  I feel the time of good things is coming. I just had to experience some things to make it happen.

A best friend passes.

March 6th, 2010

I recently came back to NY cause one of my best friends died suddenly. Didn’t see it coming and my week took a different turn when I had to fly out to NY.saw some people I hadn’t seen in 15 yearsn and I even gave a speech in honor of my buddy. he’s not suffereing anymore and I do fel for his family. Things won’t be the same. But his death reminded me to live your life, dont plan on things to happen, cause sometimes they migt not. Just have as much fun as possible. Enjoy the ones around you.
